Work Ethic

On Friday, I did a bang up job of working. Basically, I showed up at 9:45, talked on the phone with two friends until 11, and went to meet a friend for lunch. That lunch lasted from 11 to 2. Then I came back to work, and worked until 3:30, at which time I left for Shabbos. The sad part is that I wasn't being irresponsible. I had nothing on my desk to do. Of course, my boss did come looking for me a few times. But I did stay later than he did. And my immediate supervisor was off for the day, so I guess I took some liberties. But I can only put forth so much effort when so little is required of me.
